A familiar face around Family Medical’s centers since late 2012, Dr. Ruben’s career of almost a quarter century has seen him venture a long way from his native Spain, and his diverse range of interests is rivaled only by the number of languages he speaks.


His specialty in internal medicine—in his words, ‘the mother of all specialties’—involves a wide range of conditions and experiences that exposes him to everything from the emergency room, to geriatrics, to pain management, to hypertension, to palliative care. In recent years, Dr. Ruben has gravitated toward dermatology, enjoying the broad spectrum of challenges presented by the field considering the myriad causes of various skin conditions.


Dr. Ruben is the author of several books and an avid traveler and trekker. Dr. Ruben satisfies his creative impulses by painting and playing the piano.


Dr. Ruben studied Medicine and Surgery at the Universidad Central de Barcelona in Spain; furthered his studies in Acupuncture at Fundacion Bosh Gimpera de Barcelona Universidad Central de Barcelona and later Dermatology at Cardiff University. He speaks English, Spanish, Catalan, French, and Italian—while his Vietnamese improves each day.
