Dr. Nana Akino

Speciality: Gynecology

Nationality: Japan

Languages Spoken: English, Japanese

Gender: Female

Having been interested in the human body since her days in junior high school, Dr. Nana decided to follow a path in obstetrics & gynecology early on in her career. Her initial interest in pregnancy, birth and the aging process in women inspired her to conduct in-depth research on counteracting the effects of aging on the ovaries during her Ph.D. studies. This research has since motivated her to support women's longevity throughout pregnancy, birth, menopause and the treatment for such diseases as uterine and ovarian cancer in her medical practice.

Arriving in Vietnam for family reasons following the birth of her young son, Dr. Nana is particularly interested in supporting the needs of expat women—especially those from her native Japan—and relieving any anxiety they may have in seeking medical care for women’s health issues in this country. She hopes to offer both foreign and Vietnamese women a sense of security and happiness through her experience, knowledge and skills in the ob-gyn field.

Dr. Nana enjoys watching baseball games and traveling. While her main focus still revolves around caring for her son, she hopes her family will have the chance to get more adventurous as her boy gets a little older.
