Ho Chi Minh City, March 17, 2024 - Family Medical Practice is proud to have been the medical provider for BritCham Fun Run 2024 at Sala City Thu Thiem New Urban Area – Ho Chi Minh City. The running distance was 5km which seemed undemanding at first. However, it is always important to have constant medical assistance. Hence, Family Medical Practice medical station was present from start to finish.

KEEP RUNNING, WE GOT YOUR BACK

Our station was visited by many runners who needed medical assistance throughout the event. From pre-race mishaps to on-course incidents, such as skin abrasions from falls, cases of heat exhaustion, and muscle cramps, our presence reinforces the crucial nature of constant medical oversight at outdoor gatherings.

The Family Medical Practice medical station was manned by one of our ambulance doctors, Dr. Tinh, and Nurse Marlo, ensured the safety of all the runners. With over five years of working as an ambulance doctor for Family Medical Practice, Dr. Tinh's specialization in emergency medicine provided invaluable expertise. From the early hours of 5 am, Dr. Tinh and the FMP team prepared the medical equipment, emergency ambulance, and first aid supplies, ensuring that we were able to deal with any situation.

The first visit at our station was an individual who had just been in a motorbike accident upon arriving at the event. Dr. Tinh swiftly attended to the patient, sterilizing and dressing their wounds. Next, Dr.Tinh took care of runners suffering from muscle cramps before the run. The team also assisted many runners along the event’s route, ensuring no further injuries occurred.

REACH THE FINISH LINE

In addition to our station, our *9999 emergency service remained on standby with fully equipped ambulance and pickup truck. Our vehicles are prepared with state-of-the-art emergency gear and diagnostic tools to deal with every possible situation.

We make sure that runners can focus wholeheartedly on crossing the finish line with peace of mind. Fortunately, the event concluded with no serious injuries, reaffirming FMP's commitment to providing extensive medical support for all participants.
