Prepare for your visa health check-up — Important Reminders
Family Medical Practice has been appointed to conduct medical check-ups for visa applications for the UK Government. Our experience and knowledge provides you with the fastest service in Hanoi.
Always phone and organize a time for your health check. Time slots are available Monday-Friday: 8:00-17:00 and Saturday: 8:00-12:00. Please arrive on time; as we have perfected a schedule calculated specifically to keep you at the clinic for the shortest time possible.
Please bring your passport, two passport size pictures (with white background) and payment to the appointment.
Please wear loose clothing, which will help us with a number of the tests.
Based on the results of the x-ray, your doctor may suggest further tests and review with a specialist. You may also be asked to give a sputum sample (phlegm coughed up from your lungs). The sputum smear/culture test can take a while, with results available in 6-8 weeks
Get enough sleep, at least six hours, prior to the check-up. Lack of sleep may cause abnormal results such as blood pressure, heart beat, and body temperature. The doctor may not be able to assess if any change is a real abnormality.
For female applicants: postpone your medical exam until your menstruation period is over.
Eating and drinking before your appointment is allowed—however, please refrain from taking alcohol and overly sweet drinks.
It is recommended you find alternative childminding arrangements, as we do not have a childminding facility on-site. If your child is over the age of 16, they will be unable to accompany you during your immigration health examination.
