Award Ceremony: "Covid through my eyes"

Whilst many children may see Covid-19 as something scary and dangerous, FMP Hanoi wanted to raise awareness through art about what the virus may mean to children and allow them to use their artistic skills to communicate their feelings and ideas in a positive way. After a successful drawing contest last year: 'My Beloved Doctor', FMP Hanoi decided to launch a further art competition called "Covid through my eyes" in collaboration with Art Tree Studio.

After three months of implementation, the art competition "Covid through my eyes" has received attention from thousands of students and recorded 308 pieces of art. Among the 308 drawings, The prize committee selected the top 8 most outstanding drawings. We are proud to deliver the awards to the lucky winners.

Mr. Ram Shahar FMP's COO has expressed his perception about the importance of art in the life of adults and young children alike. He said "..art contributes to the child's imagination and cognitive and emotional development, it helps the young child to express himself/herself, face their fears and conquer them". He added that "exposure to art in early childhood helps to expand the child horizons, develop curiosity, encourage independent thinking and develop the ability to understand the differences between people". He concluded that "it is positive that all parents encourage the presence of art in a child's life".

The winners of the competition all believed the covid pandemic would end soon. One of our talented winners is in Chile and still having to quarantine so we are pleased to share the winning news with him. Many contestants competed for a second time after enjoying last years drawing competition 'My Beloved Doctor'.

Congratulations to the winners, we hope the competition will inspire you further and encourage you to draw more. We look forward to seeing your entries in next years art competition.
