[Hanoi] New Doctors: welcome on board; Dr. Shushunov and Dr. Nalpas & Glad you are back: Dr. Elisabeth

DrShushunov.jpgDr. Sergey Shushunov, MD, Pediatrician

Dr. Shushunov comes to FMP Hanoi with over 40 years of experience in pediatrics in the United States. He received training in General Pediatrics and in Pediatric Critical Training at Universities of Illinois and Minnesota. He was Board Certified in General Pediatrics in 1989 and in Pediatric Critical Care in 1990.

During his career, Dr. Shushunov worked in several community and academic hospitals and had the opportunity to open two Pediatric Intensive Care Units in the US, while caring for patients ranging from newborns to late teens and adults. He served as a faculty member at University of Illinois and University of Kansas, teaching medical students and pediatric residents. Over the past few years he focused on developing a new Targeted Temperature Management System based on hyper cold air mechanical ventilation.

In addition to his training in conventional medicine he was trained in Medical Acupuncture and Pharmacognosy at UCLA and University of Illinois.

Dr. Shushunov owns 2 patents and has several publications in peer review journals. His interests outside of medicine include sailing, theater, literature, art movies and classical jazz.

Dr. Mathieu Nalpas specializes in general medicine.

Before coming to Vietnam, he worked in the emergency department at Cayenne hospital in French Guyana, worked at many isolated health clinics in New Caledonia, and served different humanitarian missions with Doctors without Borders in Calais and Grande Synthe refugee camps in northern France.

Currently, Dr. Nalpas works as a General Practitioner at Family Medical Practice Hanoi.

Dr. Nalpas’ medical degree is from University of Lille II, France. His medical training also includes Advanced Trauma Life Support at Mc Gill University, Montreal, Canada; Infectious Medicine and Tropical Pathology at the University of Lille, France; Anti-infectious Therapy and Vaccinology, University of Antilles-Guyane, France; Medical Rescue in Equatorial Environment, University Paris XIII, France.
